Business Development Executive - South London, West Sussex, Surrey - Field Based

Role Overview:

Part of a dedicated Carte Blanche Sales team delivering customer centricity, sales and profit targets across all customers in line with agreed business plans. Also hitting targets on new distribution and winning new customers.

Achieving excellence in customer service, driving business relationships with a win / win focus with key customers are important role responsibilities. The incumbent will also work closely with the Divisional Sales Manager on tactical projects that are important in delivering the overall targets and responsibilities of the Independent Sales Business Unit.

This exciting role will require drive, enthusiasm, a positive approach to personal and customer development. And demonstrate a high level of technical skills and knowledge such as selling, negotiating, presenting and building effective business relationships with all customers and have good general commercial awareness.

Key aspects of the role will also include hitting budgeted daily annual, monthly and daily sales numbers. Demonstrating a customer centric approach with all customers for mutual growth and ensuring positive and timely resolutions to any customer issues. The completion of economical and efficient area / customer coverage is essential, focusing on the biggest growth opportunities while maintaining focus and distribution in all customers. Good planning and preparation skills and the ability to developing business relationships for growth are must have requirements for a successful applicant


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve set sales targets across the territory in a profitable manner
  • Maintain and grow distribution of key SKU’s in all customers
  • Work with your line manager to achieve agreed sales and distribution targets of all seasonal products
  • Understand all customer performance, plan and prepare relevant customer and category presentations for growth. Be seen as Category Consultants to our customers.
  • Maintain the required level of business knowledge across your territory to build plans and business initiatives to deliver improved profitable growth or turn around declining performance
  • Demonstrate the required level of commercial awareness aligned with numeracy and analytical ability
  • Achieve and maintain a standard of excellence through customer centricity in the delivery of the company and departmental Objectives, Goals, Strategy and Mission
  • To work in delivering the correct customer coverage and visit frequency through effective and efficient journey planning
  • Achieve the agreed new customer stores, in-store display locations and sales targets across the territory
  • Work with your RSM to improve territory debt days, terms and overall profitability
  • Keep up to pace with industry ideas, change and knowledge with a continued focus on personal development
  • Strictly adhere to the company standards, guidelines at all times, completing all administrative tasks in a timely


Skills, knowledge, experience:

  • Experience within retail, recruitment or sales preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
