Carte Blanche Group Acquires Is It Art?

17.6.17 Carte Blanche today announces the acquisition of Is It Art Ltd for an undisclosed sum.

Is It Art was founded in 1998 by greetings card industry stalwart, Martin Nevin, who upon the acquisition of Emotional Rescue in 2015 reduced his involvement in Is It Art. Martin stepped back into the business earlier this year when conversations developed between Is It Art and Carte Blanche concerning the potential of a combined business opportunity.

As part of its strategic growth plans Carte Blanche moved quickly to acquire Is It Art, injecting the capital and expertise it requires to thrive.

Carte Blanche CEO, Alister Marchant comments: “As a business we have been huge admirers of Is It Art, the brands they serve and their unique business model for many years. Although we have needed to react at pace to secure Is It Art, this acquisition is very much part of our long-term plans to represent a comprehensive brand offering across numerous sales platforms.”

Alister continues, “With the retail landscape changing faster than ever, at CBG we recognise that to grow our market share we need to work with exceptional partners which will allow our customers to choose some of the very best brands and products that our industry has to offer. The acquisition of Is It Art gives us access to the wonderful and esteemed product ranges from Blue Mountain Arts, Danilo, Emotional Rescue and Gemma International, which in turn will allow us to provide our customers with greater depth and diversity so they can meet their consumers needs.”

Is It Art represents obvious synergies with Carte Blanche Greetings, the largest Independent Greetings Card publisher in the UK, who now offer a comprehensive portfolio of some of the best cute, humour, sentiment, verse, licensed, contemporary and on-trend brands in the UK market.
