When Carte Blanche staff pledged to raise £25,000 for a hospital charity, it seemed like a daunting challenge.

One year on, the company has not only reached its goal, but exceeded the initial target by thousands of pounds.

In a brilliant team effort, CBG colleagues took part in a car rally from Calais to Rome, organised charity sales, cake raffles, dress down days - and even climbed Mount Snowdon.

Now a giant cheque for £33,048.35 has been presented to staff from Southampton Hospital’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

The charity was chosen in memory of Milo Hilder, son of Carte Blanche 3D Project Manager Mark Hilder, who was cared for at the unit. Sadly, Milo passed away just before his first birthday, but Mark and his family will always be grateful for the incredible support offered by the hospital staff.

‘The expertise and kindness shown to us by everyone at PICU made a huge difference
during such a difficult year,’ said Mark.

‘But extra funds are always needed in order for the unit to continue its fantastic work. Thank you to everyone at Carte Blanche - and their friends and families - for your tireless support. You’ve been amazing.’

Veryan Grant, Director of Southampton Hospital Charity, joined Dr Kim Sykes, PICU Consultant Paediatrician, and Amy Hebditch, the charity’s Fundraising Support Officer, for the cheque presentation at CBG head office.

‘We are thrilled and astounded to receive this incredible cheque,’ said Veryan. ‘It really is a record amount, and we are overwhelmed by Carte Blanche’s support.’

She added: ‘Thank you to the inspirational Mark Hilder, and to every single person who climbed a mountain, drove to Rome, made a cake, bought a sale item, made a bacon buttie, ate a bacon buttie or took part in any way in the mammoth team effort. Your support will help save children’s lives – thank you.’
