Technical Report Writer

Full time, 12 month Fixed Term Contract, based in Tangmere, West Sussex

 

Role Overview:

The role of Technical Report Writer will be a ‘hands on’ role with a focus on centralising the reporting and analysis of data from throughout the business and streamlining the delivery of that information using the latest tools and techniques.

The role is varied and will include data analysis, report writing, data maintenance and providing support for key business projects. 

Our data is used by all aspects of the business: marketing, sales, operations, product development and finance so analysis is required to help managers establish base lines from which to steer improvements forwards and to assist in the day to day operational excellence of the business.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • To understand the Companies objectives in relation to all aspects of information gathering and reporting
  • Ensure the Carte Blanche routine data maintenance and updates are performed and operationally ready for the business end users.
  • Provide a supportive role to the Business Analyst 
  • To communicate openly with all internal departments in the development of in depth and ad hoc reporting. Interpreting end-user business needs and translate them into efficient and accurate reports.  Ensuring that all product is punctual, well presented and prepared to a very high standard.
  • To provide training to all users on all the key reporting tools
  • To support the team in busy times, covering for them in times of absence, thus a total understanding of their roles is imperative.

 

Skills, knowledge, experience:

  • High level of Interpersonal Skills
  • Good understanding of MS Office, in particular: Excel (including power pivot and other advanced excel functions), Word, Access, Power Point
  • An awareness of how business Intelligence is used in the field
  • Understanding of database technologies
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Aptitude for problem solving and an analytical mindset
  • SSRS, SSIS
  • SQL, DAX, MDX
